Stencyl is a game creation engine like Scratch which allows users to create 2D video games for computers, mobile devices, and the web without knowledge of coding or programming. Basically, games are designed by dragging and dropping visual coding blocks. However, the task is not that simple. Building logics to make actions work in Stencyl or in any other game creation platforms takes time and of course a lot of practice.
Here are some games built on Stencyl I have played this week. My general impression is that Stencyl is a powerful platform which enables game designers to create games with graphic design of various levels of complexity.
1. Tanooky Tracks

Tanooky Tracks is a point-and-click adventure game. The main activity of this game is using the hints in the hint book to find and catch 12 mischievous spirits - Tanookys hiding in the house. The activity of using hints to catch Tanookys remind me of the activity built to enhance problem-solving skills. The problem here is finding hiding Tanookys, and the player has to use the hints, analyzing them, and then searching to solve the problem.

The main activity of this game is to remove the brown ducks and brown ducks related things and just keep the blue ducks. The thing is the player has to make sure that the blue down will not fall onto the ground. This game contains 18 challenging levels. Again, this activity, I believe, is designed to promote problem-solving skill for the player. Problem is here is to figure ways to ensure that all drown ducks is removed without making the blue ducks falling onto the ground. In fact, I surrendered at level 13 :(.

The activities in this game include moving the monkey to overcome different challenges to grap the coffee cup, using the gun, and direct the gun to clone the monkey and properly position the monkeys so that they can together overcome the challenges to get the coffee cup. This game can be used to develop analyzing skills for the player. For example, questions like why the money falls down, where the gun should be directed to to clone the monkeys and why require the player to use knowledge of physics and maths to address
